Post Cleanse

19/06/16 - 5 days post cleanse

Soo it's been 5 days since the cleanse. How has life changed?

Well I've continued with 30 mins exercise (nearly) every day.
I've tried to stick to drinking 2litres of water per day, eating fruit as snacks and having light meals.
My friend continues to keep contact, so that's quite nice. I've opted not to continue with the gel or the shakes. But I can always jump back on the wagon if needed.

I've re-introduced caffeine but cut it down significantly.
Same with my sugar, fat and salt intake.
I only have to look at carbs and my stomach bloats out to the point it looks like I've lost nothing.

My energy levels have plummeted. I once again struggle to get up and moving in the mornings and my golf game has dropped from 7 over par to 9 over par... no sure if I can put that down to the cleanse.....

Butttt

I'm down to 57.1kg so I'm continuing to lose, I've stopped measuring myself.
My trousers are either really baggy or fit really nicely. No more mushroom over the top. When I'm not bloated I look much slimmer especially in my thighs and hips/love handles.

I feel fuller quicker. So I don't feel the need to eat as much. My cravings for all things bad have dwindled down significantly. My love for fresh cream still burns bright.

My spots have started to clear up so I think it was a detox side effect. But I'd rather have a pizza face for a few days than a pizza body!

So all in all my final thought - it's probably do-able to lose this without spending £108 but the program gives you support and achievable targets to help you get to this point.
So if like me you lacked discipline it's a really great kick-start. I have no regrets so far upon doing this.

Summary

So it's all over.
Here are my results and thoughts -

Day 1 - 3
I lost 1.3kg
I lost 2cm from my biceps and waist, 3cm from my thighs and 1cm from my calves.

I felt more energy and generally really good about myself.

Day 3-6
I lost a further 0.9kg
I gained 1cm on my biceps, 4cm on my waist, 0.5cm on my thighs and 1cm on my calves.

I was a disappointed at the gain in measurements but at least I was losing weight. I think I can easily put these measurements down to muscle gain and a bit of a bloat? Either way weight does fluctuate as discouraging as that is.
I still notice I'm feeling tighter, firmer and way less tired than normal. So that spurs me on.

Day 6-9
I stay the same weight.
1cm off biceps, 4cm off waist (phew!), 1cm off hips (hurrar!), 1.5cm off thighs.
Chest, and calves stay the same.

Overall I have lost 2.2kg in weight - that's just under 5lbs
2cm off my biceps
2cm from my waist
1cm from my hips
4cm from the thighs

Chest and calves remain the same - thank god.

That's a total reduction of 9cm - that's about 3.5"

My skin is firmer and my cellulite reduced significantly. But I would have liked to have lost more on my hips. I was really hoping to reduce my love handles. (I have got them honestly you just can't tell on the pics). Happy with my stomach and my thighs are definitely getting there. Just need to exercise them more.

I didn't miss alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, crisps, biscuits etc half as much as I thought I would.

Where I would go out for a coffee or pint with a friend I'd just sip on water in the same glass they had their drinks in. Where my colleagues were on a tea break, I'd have water in my mug. When my boyfriend cracked open a beer watching the eruos, I'd knock back a cold water bottle.
I didn't need to feel left out at all.

I had the odd moment but overall my willpower wasn't overly challenged and my arm can be easily twisted. Water and fruit snacks are a necessity though. It also helped that I had no social obligations that involved going for a meal.
There is no need to eat things you don't like at all. There will be some form of fruit and veg that you like from the low GI menu and there are so many food ideas out there for balanced meals under 600cal that really aren't so bad to eat.

Exercise wise my willpower was a bit more tested. But hey if I was exercising before hand I wouldn't be cleansing in the 1st place.
It was good to have a reason to get up and get moving.
I didn't need the gym, I didn't buy any fancy new equipment. I just went downstairs in my underwear put a youtube video on and got on with it. I didn't even know if I was doing it right but I was sweating and my heart was pumping that's all you need.
If the weather was ok I'd jog for a bit outside - I didn't have to go far or do it well, just around the block a few times. Get my heart racing and my breath struggling.
I'm not saying don't join a gym or club, but don't feel obligated to go out and buy a gym mat, clothes, weights, etc etc. if you are not going to become a gym bunny.

Ok the aloe vera gel was a bit of a mission. A few times I thought it would make me throw up. But it's only 4x a day for 2 days, then just once 1st thing in the morning and you are done with stuff! It also seems to get better with time.

It's also annoying finding the "snack" time for the fiber. But the fiber itself is quick, easy and non factor to have.

A tip with the water - 250ml = 1 glass approx. Have 2 500ml bottles of water have one to sip on keep one in the fridge. When you have finished re-fill it and swap the bottles over so you always have nice ice cold water to drink. Drink 4 x 500ml bottles of water over the course of the day and you are a winner! I was also told to put lemon/lime/cucumber in the water. But I never bothered except at the pub.

It also massively helped buying the item from a friend who works for the company. Yes she was there to sell a product and keep my custom, but she messaged me nearly every day to see how I was doing. Giving me tips and advice, keeping me motivated and positive. Asking my opinions and adding me into facebook support groups so I could talk to other people going through the same thing and get ideas for exercises and meals. It wasn't a world of exercise obsessed meatheads and health food junkies. No looking down at you because you can't run a mile in under 8 minutes, or eat a steak wrap instead of some super food laden lentil bean salad.

Ok so lets cut to it - is the cleanse worth doing?

It's £108 or there about for a 9 day cleanse that has everything you need near enough.
You will need (if you don't already) stock your fridge with fruit, veg and other low calorie allowed
food. So lets say it's £130 for 9 days. That's £14.44 a day. It's not cheap. Only you can decide if it is worth that much to you.

The plan is wonderfully laid out and the support is there if you need it.
You need to be dedicated and strong willed. If you are put off on the 1st sniff of the gel and go straight for having shakes then just do a shake diet.

If you can stick to it, you will lose. Depending on your body you might lose a little or a lot I don't know but I'm confident you will lose some.
Will you look like a bikini model? Maybe? But don't expect unrealistic results.
It's a 9 day cleanse that's designed to make you lose a few pounds, slim down your silhouette and want to continue a healthy lifestyle.
As you can see from my measurements and photos - it's not dramatic.
Whether you buy more forever living products or just carry on reducing your calories and increasing your exercise it is an excellent kick start if you stick with it.
Might be worth doing it over a quiet 9 days where you haven't got much going on.

Could you achieve these results without doing the cleanse? Probably, but maybe not as quickly? The reason you are reading this as I was reading other reviews and websites I was lazy and struggling to get the motivation. This will give you that. Whether I keep it up is another question entirely - I can have pizza now.

I think that's it! Thanks for coming on my journey with me.
Feel free to comment or ask me any questions!

Again I'm not here to sell forever living or any other product. It's not skin off my nose if you have it or not. I hope this helps give you an informed opinion.

P.S you might get spots. No diarrhoea though .. least not for me.

Day 9 - Last Day!

14/06/16 - Last Day!

Weight: 57.7kg
Chest: 78cm
Biceps: 25cm
Waist: 85cm
Hips: 94cm
Thighs: 52cm
Calves: 36cm

Last Day!

7 AM
Aloe vera gel doesn't taste all that bad today. Didn't need any fruit or shake straight after...
got some left in the bottle will probably continue till it runs out - didn't think I'd be saying that after day 1!

My jaw line, chin and neck have come out in spots. Not really bad but I hardly ever get spots so to me they look really bad.
I'm not sure if it's a detox side effect or if it's from my duvet as I suspect the cat lays where I lay my face.
The cellulite that was on the back of my legs is practically none existent now!
I'm still on the never ending quest to remove the love handles though.
I think I need to strengthen my inner thigh muscles to help my knock knee's and bulging outer thigh muscles.
I now feel motivated to do just that.
I'm really happy with my tummy.

Anyway rest of the day goes as normal - did a legs, bums and tums session followed by a jog. My legs still ache but no where near as bad.
Tablets, shakes, water, fruit, fiber.

A work colleague who hasn't seen me all week says she can tell I've slimmed down. That's really encouraging.
Another one says she can't tell - but she's seen me nearly every day, so I can live with that.

7 PM
For tea I was going to have that awesome omelet I had a few days ago but the farm down the road has no eggs soo I had a Jacket Potato with reduced fat cheese and a side salad. No butter or spread.
OMG I didn't? Yes I did. But I didn't season the outer skin with salt, used mixed herbs and olive oil.
It's not quite as nice but not far off so a good way to reduce my salt intake in the future.

Now I just have to keep drinking water.

That's it. Job done!
Wait there is still chicken in the handbrake of my car!!!!!!

Day 8

13/06/16 - Day 8

Day before the last day!!
How am I feeling? Less peppy. I didn't struggle to get up but I didn't leap out of bed either.
I ache. My thighs burn.

Another new spot has appeared around my jawline. I'm not sure if it's due to the detox or my duvet..

I do a leg bums and tums session but my legs kinda give up.
I'm thinking maybe a rest day?

7 AM
I do breakfast as normal - aloe vera, water, shake, tablets.

My boss asks me how it's all going - she commented that I don't look or seem as tired.
Cool.
My friend messages me to see how it's all going again. She gives me some advice for the future and offers up a bit of a deal.
Haha that sounds so conning - but no not a deal to make me buy more promise ;-)

11 AM
Fiber, water, fruit

1 PM
Shake, tablets, water

The area manager came down for a longgggggg visit today so I wasn't able to snack on fruit/have my 4pm apple - n boy did I feel it!
5pm I was flagging hard.

6 PM
Dinner YAY! Tablets, water andddd to eat -
Turkey mince spaghetti bolognaise! The sauce was just chopped tomatoes, herbs and bell peppers but it was pretty good considering.

8 PM
Well my legs are totally done in. So I did a lot of stretches this evening and sit ups.
So I hope that's enough exercise.

Oh and today I had a bit of a bad stomach, nothing major though. Obviously jinxed it yesterday with such thoughts. I'm not going to go into what my stools have been like during the past week that I feel is a PM message only. But still no diarrhea and not as gassy which is good.
My chin area is still spotty. Not really bad or anything but I usually have clear skin.

Been using a 750ml liter bottle instead of a 500ml - it's totally threw me even though I'm still having water in 250ml's.
I think I've drank enough??! I've gotten really lazy at keeping score of my water past few days.

Last day tomorrow!!
I think will kind of miss it, I like how structured and motivated my days have been.. but I'm looking forward to having a latte and a pizza on Wednesday!

Day 7

12/06/16 - Day 7

8 AM
Not as much pep today. Could of done with a bit longer in bed but that could be due to the late night and crappy football result.

I give aerobics a try. I like aerobics much more than yoga.
Again I struggle to keep up with the video timing but I'm sweating and enjoying it much more.

Starting to take the gel down like a champ now. Considering carrying it on after day 9.
Am I going crazy?!

My friend touches base and asks me how I'm doing. She then goes on to ask what my plans are for after.
Such a decision!
Do I carry it on so I look good for holiday? But then there is the £ involved. This stuff isn't cheap.
Do I need to carry anything on just keep up with 30min exercise and don't eat as much crap?
Do I just re-start if I start to lose shape? But I brought lots of tiny clothes?!

Questions for later.
Right now I have a 6hour shift.

Again tablets, fruit, water, shakes, fiber blaa blaa - it is becoming second nature.

Now for the interesting part!
I decided to split my meal up (I had to use the chicken up before it went out of date)

1 PM
Lunch -
Chicken, chopped tomatoes, herbs, and veg.

7 PM
Dinner -
Chicken cesar salad with a smidgen of cesar dressing - yes I know that's really bad but it's day 7 is it really going to hurt??!
Probably.

I don't think I drank enough water today either ... I'm getting a bit lazy at keeping track.

Went for a nice walk over the woods in the evening - saw some deer!

I haven't been so gassy lately or had much stomach complaining. I don't think I have IBS, but sometimes I have the symptoms. Could this be really helpful for people with gastric troubles?
I have also been a lot more forgetful recently than normal. I am normally forgetful but the past few days I've been very scatterbrained - a side effect?

Day 6

11/06/16 - Day 6

M-Day #2

Weight: 57.7kg
Chest: 78cm
Biceps: 26cm
Waist: 89cm
Hips: 95cm
Thighs:53.5cm
Calves: 36cm

Really disappointed with the measurements. I try to tell myself that weight fluctuates, I'm building muscle, I'm clutching at straws..
But my weight is down, I'm under 9st which was a target goal. I feel tighter, firmer and smoother and have a bit of a thigh gap.

Even so I won't lie it's kinda disappointing and does deflate my energy and enthusiasm slightly.

Still thought more encouraging messages from my friend and the facebook support group.
Spurs me on to keep going.

7 AM
This morning I try to do yoga again. But I'm in too much of a bad mood for yoga so I sack it off and jog instead.
I don't like yoga. I should it requires little moving about and lots of stretching .. but I just don't.

Again aloe vera gel - getting kind of used to this stuff now. It's not all that bad.
Tablets, shakes, water, fruit, fiber etc etc.

One of the new part time girls at work offers me coco-pops and a cup of tea.
She keeps forgetting I'm on a detox bless her. But I stay strong.

6 PM
Minced turkey meat, brown rice and bell peppers.
Wolf it down and go out with the boyfriend to watch the England match with friends.

8 PM
So the pints are flowing and I too am joining in - only mines filled with ice water and not lager.
My friend ordered cheesey chips and doesn't want them. I could have them if I wanted.
I hate my friend. Still I don't crack.
I'm slurping on water just the same and keeping up with the rounds.
Even had alternating slices of lemon and lime to keep it interesting!

After the match we go meet up with some other friends out in town in a cocktail bar.
He offers me a cocktail. I politely refuse.
He tries to get me to taste his cocktail. I again refuse.
He puts the cocktail physically to my lips. I keep them shut.
My will power is awesome.

We stay out till 1am. I've only drank water and I feel pretty good.
saved £ on the taxi as I drove, didn't spend any £ on drinks - water is free! No take-a-way and best of all there will be no hangover in the morning!
This doesn't mean I won't be going for a bottle of Peroni or two in a few weeks time.

I also easily did over 2 liters of water today.

Still thought I can not help but reflect on tonight's events. My friends didn't know I was detoxing until I refused food and drink. Why do I never get offered free stuff when I'm up for it?!
God damn it.

Day 5

10/06/16 - Day 5 - Start of Euro 2016

7 AM
Much of the same - waking up really early with lots of pep and a go getting attitude.

I decide to try out yoga this morning through a 30min youtube video on the tv.
Yoga is hard.
But really the hardest part is having the space needed in the living room, trying to look up at the TV and do what she's doing before she starts doing something else and trying to fathom out if I'm doing it right because I don't feel the stretch where she says I should be?

Still I'm sweating so that's cool.

Again back to the same old - gel, tablets, shake, fiber, fruit, tablets, shake, water, water more water.

Unloading a big delivery at work - no back ache and more stamina than usual. Awesome.

6 PM
So I made myself the boiled chicken salad I had a few days ago. I went to get it out of the car, but the lid wasn't on my lunch box so when I went to grab it...
It went EVERYWHERE. I mean everywhere. Down the back of the seats, seatbelts, handbrake.
There is chicken and salad stuck down my handbrake.
I had to buy insect tongue feeders to try to tweeze the chicken out from my handbrake.
I can't. The chicken goes further down.
But I did get the lettuce.
I've actually got to phone up a garage and tell them "I need help there is chicken stuck in my handbrake"
F*** it that is a job for another day.

There's 2 eggs in the fridge so I have a bell pepper omelet with a sprinkle of 33% reduced fat cheese. OMG heaven.
I usually don't like omelets very much, but this right now. Awesome.

More water.

Tomorrow is M-Day #2
Looking forward to it.
Now lets watch France win...
